1. Overview — what you're buying
When you buy Eviga, you are paying us to: capture stories from a person you nominate (the "recipient") via WhatsApp over twelve months, weave those stories into written chapters using AI, host the resulting voice clips and chapters on EU servers, and produce one printed hardcover book of the finished memoir. You become a "founding supporter" — one of the first 50 people to back the product before public launch.
By completing checkout, you agree to these terms and our privacy policy.
2. Founding supporter terms
Founding supporters get a specific arrangement that public-launch customers will not get:
- Locked-in price: £149, while the public launch price will be £179
- Limited availability: Total of 50 founding supporter spots
- Pre-launch funding: Your payment helps fund the development of Eviga itself
- Refund guarantee: If we don't launch the service by the date we commit to at checkout, you get an automatic full refund. See section 4
- Early access: Founding supporters get the service two weeks before public launch
- Personal onboarding: A direct line to the team during your first month, including help crafting the first message to the recipient
- Direct feedback channel: Founding supporters help shape the product. We want to hear what works and what doesn't
3. What's included in £149
- Twelve months of weekly questions sent to the recipient on WhatsApp, starting on the date you choose
- A private digital archive containing every voice clip, transcript, photo, and draft chapter
- One printed hardcover book (~200 pages, cloth-wrapped, foil-stamped, archival paper, Smyth-sewn binding) shipped to an address of your choosing
- QR codes throughout the book that resolve to permanent voice files on EU servers
- Family sharing: Invite up to 5 family members to view the dashboard, suggest prompts, and add photos
- Personal onboarding from the Eviga team in your first month
- EU-hosted, GDPR-compliant data handling for the lifetime of the service
- Voice file hosting guarantee for 50+ years (mirrored across two EU regions; see section 9)
4. Refund policy
Before launch
If we have not launched the public service by the date we commit to at checkout, you receive a full automatic refund. The £149 sits in Stripe, ringfenced. We do not draw it down to fund operations until launch.
You can also cancel for any reason before launch — write to support@myeviga.com and we will refund you in full within 7 business days. No questions asked.
After launch / activation
Once your gift is activated and the recipient has begun engaging, we cannot offer a clean refund — we have begun delivering the service, and the engagement itself has value. However, three things are still true:
- If the recipient genuinely doesn't engage: If after 30 days the recipient has not meaningfully participated despite our follow-ups, we'll work with you on a partial refund (typically 80%) or transfer of the service to a different recipient
- If circumstances change: Bereavement, severe illness, or other genuine hardship — write to us. We have not yet refused a reasonable request
- If we mess up: Technical failures on our end, the AI doing something wrong, the book arriving damaged — we'll fix it or refund relevant portions
5. Delivery and shipping
- Digital archive: Available continuously throughout the engagement period. Updates appear in your dashboard within 24 hours of the recipient's contributions
- Printed book: Printed within 5 business days of order, shipped within 10–14 days of order
- Shipping: International. Cost shown at order. We use tracked, insured shipping
- Damaged in transit: Replaced free of charge — send a photo of the damage and the original packaging
- Lost in transit: Replaced free of charge after the carrier's standard waiting period
- Multiple shipping addresses: Supported for additional copies (see section 10)
6. The recipient's consent
This is important. Eviga involves capturing stories from a person who is not the buyer. Here's how we handle their consent:
- You confirm at checkout that you have the recipient's permission to share their contact details with Eviga and to begin the engagement
- The recipient is told honestly on day one that Eviga is an AI built to capture their stories, that you have given them this gift, and that they can stop anytime
- The recipient can withdraw at any time — request deletion, pause, or stop entirely, regardless of what you want
- The recipient owns their stories. See section 8
- If the recipient and you disagree about deletion: The recipient's wishes prevail. We will not preserve stories against the recipient's wishes
7. Permitted use
Eviga is provided for personal, family use. Specifically:
- You may use it to capture stories from a parent, grandparent, partner, sibling, or other close family member who has consented
- You may share access with up to 5 invited family members
- You may print and distribute additional copies of the resulting book among your family
- You may NOT resell or sublicense Eviga as a service
- You may NOT use Eviga to capture stories from people who have not consented
- You may NOT use Eviga for commercial publishing of the resulting memoir without separate written agreement
- You may NOT use Eviga in ways that violate any applicable law
8. Content ownership
This is one of the most important sections.
Who owns what the recipient says
The voice clips, photos, transcripts, and chapters belong to the recipient. They are the author of their own life story.
Your rights as the buyer
By giving Eviga as a gift, you have an implied license to receive, view, and possess the resulting book and digital archive. You may share them with family. You may NOT publish the recipient's stories commercially without their separate, written permission.
Eviga's rights
Eviga has a limited license to use the recipient's contributions solely to deliver the service to you. We do not claim any ownership of the resulting memoir. We may not use her stories in marketing, demos, training data, or any other purpose without her separate, written consent.
If the recipient passes away
The voice clips, transcripts, and chapters become the property of her legal estate, governed by the inheritance laws of her jurisdiction. The Eviga service continues to function (the QR codes still play her voice). The dashboard access transfers to whoever you nominate.
9. Service availability
- Voice file hosting: Eviga maintains the voice files referenced by QR codes in the printed book for the lifetime of the company. We hold escrow with our cloud provider that extends this guarantee for 5 years past any potential company shutdown
- Service uptime: We target 99.5% uptime on the WhatsApp interview engine and the family dashboard. Brief outages for maintenance happen; major incidents will be communicated
- Data export at any time: You can export everything (MP3 voice clips, PDF chapters, ZIP of photos) from your dashboard at any time. You are never locked in
- Wind-down notice: Before any service termination, we commit to giving 90 days of notice and to refunding pro-rata any unused engagement time
10. Additional copies of the book
Once the digital archive is finished — or partially finished, at any point — you can order additional printed copies. Pricing:
- One additional copy: ~£35 plus shipping
- Bundle of 5: ~£150 plus shipping
- Bundle of 10: ~£280 plus shipping
- Custom dedications: Each copy can have its own dedication page, custom endpaper, or different cover color, at no extra cost
- Reprint at any time: Print files are kept on EU servers permanently. Order another copy in 5 years, or 25
These prices are estimated for the founding supporter period. Final pricing will be confirmed before any additional order.
11. Account and security
- Your account is identified by your email address. Keep it secure — anyone with access to that email can recover access to your dashboard
- If you suspect unauthorized access, write to support@myeviga.com immediately and we will lock the account
- You are responsible for who you invite to your dashboard. Choose carefully
- We may suspend an account in cases of suspected fraud, payment disputes, or violations of these terms — but we will contact you first wherever possible
12. Changes to the service
Eviga is an evolving product. We may add features, refine the AI's interview style, change the dashboard interface, or improve the printing quality. We will not make material reductions to what's included in your purchase without notice.
Changes that affect price apply only to new customers — your locked-in £149 remains £149.
13. Liability and disclaimers
Eviga is provided on an as-is basis. While we take great care with technology and data, we cannot guarantee:
- Uninterrupted service (occasional outages happen)
- Perfect AI output (the AI sometimes misinterprets things — you can correct it from your dashboard)
- Recipient engagement (we can't make her enjoy it; we can only build something she will probably want to engage with)
- Indefinite availability of WhatsApp itself (we depend on Meta's WhatsApp Business API; if they fundamentally change it, we adapt)
Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the service. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for things that cannot legally be limited (e.g. fraud, gross negligence, or under EU consumer protection law).
14. Disputes and governing law
These terms are governed by Swedish law. We hope you'll never need this section.
If something goes wrong
Our default position is to fix things. Email support@myeviga.com with the problem and we will work to resolve it. Most issues are resolved in days, not weeks.
If we cannot resolve it directly
EU consumer law gives you the right to use online dispute resolution at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
If it goes to court
Disputes will be resolved in Swedish courts unless EU consumer law provides for a more favorable jurisdiction.
